Ripples

There are ripples all around me
Ripples of long past, spiraling
Into those of future;
Ripples leaving me, for the shore

Each one moves away, leaving
Nothing but peace behind
At the forsaken center;
Each onslaught smoothens
The surface, only the soul
Keeps diving deeper.
