A child's birth from a safe, nurturing womb
A boy learning to walk by himself
A young man yearning to hold a hand
An adult signing a bond of responsibility
A father kissing his newborn's eyes
A Man holding on...to the edges of a boat
Tightly clutching his daughter to his core,
His wife by his side, and hope just a bit too far.
Exodus, after exodus, after exodus
The one from the promised land is a refugee,
An alien - to himself, and to others like himself.
Those who call him names are yet no better;
Ignorant and proud, they are yet to see
What it means to be a hopeful Man
In a world where all hope has ceased to be.
