Do you remember your mother's womb?
It must have been hard inside, wasn't it?
Did you feel depressed or claustrophobic?
In hunger and pain you knew how to kick!
You fought and cried and won your escape
So tell me what's holding you down today?
Is it a lover who you imagined would lead the way?
Is it your friends who somehow have nothing to say?
Is it an employer who signs your cheques?
Or is it for you just another pointless day?
What, my friend, is holding you down today?
Your time too is precious, but only if you value yourself.
This is no poem for a poem's sake
Wake up my friend! Seize this day!
