Diffusion with a drift

There's a one dimensional line, near-by
Randomness is its environmental science
There's a tale of two diffusing particles
Crisscrossing inertly for large enough time;
And then, a field came into being
The particles tasted the Telegrapher's sting.
A new steady state, more or less achieved
Spoke of a gap, that was ever increasing.
But why am I bothered? I am, but active;
And the active case is next to be studied.
But that's how Physics enters the circuit
Some lives are only diffusion with a drift.
