The day passes into Sundown,
Feathers return to footsteps' sound
Stories rush and hide along the lawns
Inventions screw discoveries downtown.
And you want me to let go
You wish I would, for I won't.
The evenings succumb to stolen gold
Parents bring children into the mould
But there's always a system with a flaw
Some herbivores acquire deadly claws.
You want me to get into the rhythm
A tune, you have known all too well
But then I have been playing it so wrong
Your notes are now burning into oblivion.
There appears night, with its deep dark vault
A vault where I thrive, like all monsters do
Like you have done, in denial, unable to unfold;
Every secret is born for someday to be sold.
Feathers return to footsteps' sound
Stories rush and hide along the lawns
Inventions screw discoveries downtown.
And you want me to let go
You wish I would, for I won't.
The evenings succumb to stolen gold
Parents bring children into the mould

Like you have done, in denial, unable to unfold;
Every secret is born for someday to be sold.
