The City

 Hours before darkness strikes,

The city sleeps a peaceful sleep;

The wind is calm, the Moon is new

And the waves seem to be a distant chore.

Unaware, the city sleeps a peaceful sleep,

Days of fire are over, stars are finally here.


But just by the city gates waits a truth,

A figure of lore hidden inside man's interior.

The floodgates of blood will be opened,

Fire shall return, and take its due.

And the city - dreaming in its pride,

Gold, glory, wisdom and songs -

Will sleep forever more.
