Let's talk about love, Love.
Let's put things on the table,
No, not like friends, or strangers;
But lovers. You know, who we used to be,
Who I still am, you still are; we aren't.
Let's not pretend about the memories,
Stolen glances, novels and art :
It was never about these things; it was
About us, what we demanded, our hopes,
Or to collapse it all, our desires.
Let's talk about love, where it hurts.
Let's talk about the feelings we murdered,
The smiles we wore, trashed, lost and replaced:
Commodities, cheap and available; devoid
Of Eternity, begging for elegance; fossils
Of souls; cooked, had and stuffed into waste-bins.
Tell me, is it that smile, you are looking for?
Let's talk about love, and the truth we ignored.
Let's talk about us, and what's left in us -
Of each other; let's talk some love; and disappear.
