Half sentences

There is too much light nowadays
Nights are searching for new shades
My words once again have nowhere to go
And I'm a poet ready to miss the flow.

You sang to me when you were close by
And then you needed a newer alibi
Having grown up today I do realize
The dots never had meaning; they were shy.

The results are out; new kids on the block
I look back and find you steady like a rock
I was once there where the marbles still stay
As new footsteps count themselves, yearning for breath.

I wonder what lives on in actuality
The memories in me or our eroded footsteps;
 Or these letters and half-sentences
Or simply nothing since you never cared to stay.
