There's a dawn waiting for you somewhere
With its promises of golden dew drops on rice leaves
That fleeting epoch when songbirds sing
And darkness succumbs to an inevitable reality.
But that dawn is not for me.
I'm the lover of waves and white lilies,
Gliding forever on ripples of time -
Who'd rather spend a dreamless night.
So I'll be far away, swimming against
Anything that promises fruits of life.
